So Cool has belatedly realized that due to commitments made months ago, not only will he NOT be able to host us Saturday morning, but he will NOT be able to join us for the ride, for he will be out of town. I offer you the opportunity to read again the happy note below, and weep for its sad lack of verity. I know it's a paltry substitute, but we'll make a stop at a coffeehouse instead:

Once again, Don "So Cool" Gordon has generously offered to host us at his Santa Barbara home for a coffee break, before we head into the mountains. No flexy-straws necessary; we will actually have time to take off our helmets and talk with each other for a while.

Lucky 13.

The final ride in the increasingly improbable Dual Sport Ride Series is upon us:

Extremely narrow singletrack – Puckeringly steep descents – Nerve-wrackingly loose hill climbs –

Stallingly treacherous curves (BYO R1200GS – pictured vehicle not included) –

And a host of other challengingly challenging challenges await you. Who knows; with good riding, a helping hand over the rough sections, and a smattering of good luck, you just might survive long enough to enjoy the staggeringly beautiful sweeping views to be had at the very very end of the intimidatingly narrow and exposed, sometimes silty, relatively rocky and continuously curvy ridgeline run you will have to survive all the above-named treacherosities merely in order to catch a fleeting glimpse of – let alone attempt to ride on. *
