Santa Ynez Valley backroads

The museum houses bikes of all
styles & eras.
This, the most challenging ride in this iteration of VCARS, is likely to be the cushiest as well. Our view-encrusted, coastal and mountain morning route will take us over unique terrain both paved and un-, into the Santa Ynez Valley for a visit to the Solvang Motorcycle Museum.*

Active ingredients:
Rocky fire roads, water crossings, &
narrow winding Jeep trails like this.

Cold Springs Tavern is an ideal
spot for a break on the way home.
Drop-jawing over amazing machines is hungry work; after the museum we’ll make a restaurant lunch stop in Solvang before heading back onto the road for a nifty little mixed surface mountain loop, offering stunning vistas of the Santa Ynez Valley and all points west. Our return route brings us right past Cold Springs Tavern... All in all, a short sweet day with a little kick to it, here & there. Don’t forget your camera!

*Bring ten bucks (museum entry fee)!

Laine, looking forward to a somewhat "drier" ride on Saturday. So far the weather is looking PURRRRR Fect. Lets get some more riders signed up...I mean heck, if a novice like me can do the ride in the pouring rain, these hard core Beemer guys should make it no problem,,,right?

Laine,
Looks like the count is up to around 8 of us. Jolly good. Hope we get some better pictures this time.

I count seven, but there is another fellow communicating via email with me about it. Then add the surprise attendees, I bet we get ten. People are going to wake up & see how gorgeous the day is going to be and ... suddenly want to rush off to the BMW shop for doughnuts & chit chat! Oh, & we might go for a ride...

Huzzah! Another best-laid plan "gang agley" yet survived all the same.
