We’re going to Magic Mountain! Yippee!
There actually is a mountain called Magic Mountain. We’ll be riding over it on an intriguing Angeles Forest ridge trail that provides a bird’s eye view of Soledad Canyon from San Fernando to Palmdale. After descending the ridgeline, we will follow random dirt-infested byways northward for a lunch stop at the infamous Rock Inn in Lake Hughes. After lunch we will head homeward on more Angeles Forest roads and trails.
As full day rides go, this one will be on the short side. The terrain is suitable for novice riders, or more experienced riders with passengers. Touring tires will suffice. The ride will be limited to 17 bikes. Touring Don’t miss Spring in the lower Angeles!
As shown above, most of this ride can be done without a rear shock. Research ride, DST 03.
