DS RIDE 01: INTRODUCTION
Are the tires on your GS worn square-edged from too much time on the super-slab? Increase your Fire-Road : Freeway ratio on this introduction to off-pavement riding. A short, sweet morning of twisty slab riding through Ventura County backcountry will bring us to several miles of entry-level dirt riding. Mellow dirt roads sport fantastic views of much of the County and (weather permitting) the glittering Pacific.
This ride is designed specifically for the dualsport rider with little or no off-pavement experience and a desire to change that. More experienced riders are cordially requested to join in too, to snicker at us noobies, and offer riding tips.
Due to the group size limit and limits on the numbers of users allowed in the area we will be visiting, time is of the essence: If you would like to sign on for this ride, immediately contact ride leader Laine MacTague to guarantee your space (Laine_MacTague@verizon.net). Showing up at the shop on the morning of the ride will guarantee you a place on the pavement at the gate to the off-road section, waving teary-eyed as we leave you in the dust (but the slab ride will be fun, so come along anyway).
